It kept me engrossed in the story and kept me wanting to pick it up and keep reading. There's no great mystery in the story, just good writing. Except for the names of things. Holy cow....12, 13, 14 even 15 letter words. That's what knocked this to a 4|From the Author|My first fantasy novel. All in all I am very pleased with how it turned out.
